Ever wanted to climb a volcano? Villarrica volcano in Chile might just be the place for you, it is one of the world’s most climbed (active) volcanoes.
Guided hikes usally set out from Pucón, the largest town nearest to the volcano (about 14 kilometers north of Villarrica), it has fairly good weather, and as long as you can see the tip of Villarrica and it is not covered with a cloud, it is likely you’ll have a great hike up there.
Note: Currently (October 2015) it is not allowed to climb Villarica due to recent eruption, but great view and you can still drive up to the snow line. (thanks for the tip Yaniv Peles)
