Machu Picchu is an old Incan fortress built in the 15th century, high up in the Andes Mountains (Peru). Machu Picchu is located above the Urubamba River valley. Some considere it as one of the 7 Wonders of the World. The site is the remains of an Inca settlement and it is simply amazing to explore! Throughout the structures you find so many examples of the Inca’s intelligence. Everything was built with purpose, from the direction a wall is facing to the height of a tier. It is extremely impressive how the Inca’s have built and actually lived in a city so high up in the mountains (about 2500 meters high)!
