Lokrum Island, Croatia

Lokrum Island, Croatia, (also known as Lacroma) is a small island right off the shores of the old city of Dubrovnik, it is about 600 metres from the coast (located in Adriatic Sea).
It has a ferry that runs every half hour out of the port in the old city. It is less than a 15 minutes ride, pretty cheap (last boat goes around 6pm don’t get stuck there at night.. it’s illegal), some of the Island’s beaches are known to be somewhat nudist, mainly on the south, also there are nice cliffs which people tend to dive into the beautiful clear water (the highest cliffs are no more than 25 meters ).

The island also has beautiful sandy beaches and vast parts of it are covered with forests ( mainly pine and cypress). The island has a botanical garden and a salt-water lake ( Mrtvo More which translates as “The sea of death”) and one can easily float on the water due to it’s saltiness. The small lake is no more than 10 meters deep at it’s deepest point and is located on the southern part of this pleasant little Island.
