The Laguna Beach Tide Pool is in southern Orange County,(California, USA) The most beautiful Tide Pool is on the far left side of “thousand steps beach”. The adventures hike to the tide pool can be difficult slippery and dangerous (blow holes, a cave and strong tide coming in). Also some clame it is located on private property… so we strongly discourage you from braking the law if this is the case.
All that being said, this is still a spectacular and captivating ocean-fed tide-pool. Orange County Lifeguards often say that random people approach them with photographs of the (out of Google-Images or Instagram) and ask for directions.
In the past, only few knowledgeable locals would visit this pool, but now this saltwater pool is gaining internet-popularity and an increasing number of people drive for hours in order to find this tide pool.
Unfortunately the hike to the cave has already claimed the life of a young man who apparently slipped into a blow-hole near the pool. This web-famed pool is truly a hidden gem, but it also poses danger.
