Hveravellir Nature Reserve (located in the highlands of Iceland) is one of the last great wilderness & geothermal areas of Europe. Hveravellir is a hotspot with smoking steam vents and bubbling water holes between the glaciers Langjökull and Hofsjökull. It is a very memorable experience to have a look around, whether it is in the summer or winter. The surroundings are spectacular. Fenced in by glaciers mountains, lava fields and craters – wherever you look the view is just astonishing.
Hveravellir is one of Iceland’s most popular Oasis in the highlands whether your choose to drive, hike or even ride an Icelandic horse. The area offers many hiking trails through the wonders of the lava field or nearby magnificent mountain slope. And for those in need of recharging and relaxing just a simple chill in the nature pool followed by a cup of hot chocolate and a slice of cake in the restaurant might be just the thing.
